Mikhail Gorbachev and the Collapse of Communism

Towards the end of the communist reign in Russia the leader and president Mikhail Gorbachev would choke the lst breath out of the communist party. He felt it separatedthe nation and this arms race incorporated into the communist government was affecting the econmoy and the people of Russia and Gorbachev wanted to end it. He wanted to expand russias new ideals and influence so he proposed a glasnot plan or openess that would lighten up the communist hold on russia and he also planned The perestroika or economic restructering that would bring new economic ideals and politcal functions much similar to ours. The people saw the difference in their country and they were on Gorbachevs side. Not only did he increase the economy but he also brought russia into better foreign realations with opposing countries. So he gave the people hope and they no longer needed communism and then the system was finished and russia was brought into a new era of economic reform and this act probably ended alot of tensions and potential attack and threats.Communism had died in the mother land and the wall had been teared down it was a new day and a new step at world peace.
